Biography and previous work

Lauren is originally from Wales, but moved to Sheffield in order to study a masters degree in biomaterial engineering. She studied her second year abroad at Alfred University, NY, USA and joined the natural materials group in 2016 for a summer project.

Current Work

Lauren is currently undertaking a SURE summer project which focusses on relating the viscoelastic properties of silk and common materials. The aim of her project is to find a material that has similar properties to silk, which can be used in an interactive outreach stand for the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition in London.

Personal interests

I like theatre, dancing and travelling.
